Axcex Media LLC, headquartered in Richmond, VA, seeks a full time Lead Installation Technician to lead our growing integrated fire alarm and low voltage security systems installation projects. 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Our Lead Installation Technician is an integral part of our field team, leading a team through installation troubleshooting, and servicing fire alarm monitors, low voltage security systems, and other fire and life safety solutions projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm and Access Control systems - Notifier, Firelite, Silent Night, etc.
  • Appropriate use of required tools and test equipment such as multi-meter, megger, laptop to program, lifts, etc. to repair or replace fire alarm system components.   
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards. 
  • Programing and software knowledge with a variety of fire alarm systems used when removing or replacing components.   
  • Troubleshoot to determine fault or faults to include ground faults with fire alarm systems.   
  • Repair or replace damaged fire alarm components such as FACP, power supply, alarm-initiating devices, notification devices, etc.   
  • Lead as a team player with a positive attitude and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers as well as offsite monitoring companies in a professional manner.  
  • Required to be punctual to required work locations and complete scheduled projects in a timely manner.   
  • Document and track work orders, materials needed, time on job, etc.
  • Ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained as required by company policies. 
  • Alarm Technicians will be placed in on-call status as required by location to handle emergency service requests. 
  • Periodically attend seminars or similar education/training sessions to stay abreast of latest technology, codes, and standards changes.
  • Train service technician trainees all applicable aspects of fire protection.   
  • Tool and asset inventory, tracking and maintenance.
  • Customer service and satisfaction.
  • Perform other assigned duties as requested by immediate supervisor and/or management.
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
BASIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Supervisory and Industry experience is required.
  • NICET 1 (minimum) or state specific certification
  • Experience with HILTI or STI systems, preferred.
  • 100% Travel. Applicants MUST be able to travel to day-to-day job sites AS WELL AS outside their territory for weeks at the time to meet client demand and deadlines.
  • MUST live in Virginia. 
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
  • Must have a Clean Driving Record for the past 3 years (No suspensions within the last 3 years).
  • Ability to share a hotel room while travelling.
  • Comfortable with heights and stable on a ladder.
  • Ability to carry 75 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a background check and routine drug tests.
